Time Well Spent
At Gusbourne, we present an authentic reflection of a time and place in each of our bottles, by producing exclusively vintage wines that are unique to each growing season. Inspired by this ethos of making the most of time, we’ve put together a collection of tips, tricks and interesting reads to help you make the most of your Time Well Spent.
Happy Christmas from Gusbourne
As December 25th approaches and we look forward to 2022, we reflect on what made this year so special as we wish all our friends, families and partners a very happy vintage Christmas.
A Toast to the Season
Christmas is the season of the senses. Flavours, aromas, sounds. Traditions old and new. Evoking memories and creating new ones. We asked our team at The Nest to share some of their most treasured festive moments.
Time to Feast: Festive Menus and Wines to Match
For this year’s festive gatherings, celebration leads the way. Brunches, lunches, family dinners, Boxing Day spreads… every Christmastime feast is an occasion to savour and remember. Let’s raise a toast to this vintage year!
Perfect Pairing: Gusbourne x Restaurant Story
Five courses. Five wines. Two stars. All on one splendidly seasonal menu. Our most recent sold-out Michelin-starred dining event flowed deliciously from beginning to end when Tom Sellers’s Restaurant Story popped up with Group Head Chef Gary Cutcliffe at Gusbourne in October.
All Hallow's Eve in Kent
It’s when we say goodbye to the growing season and hello to a new vintage year of wines. Beyond the vineyards, it’s also a time for pumpkins, ghost stories and the traditional festivals that mark the transition between seasons – and between earthly and spirit worlds.
The Saxon Shore Way
Pity the poor Romans. After all their hard work civilising Britain for 366 years, the waves of invading barbarians became too much to bear. Abandoned fortifications pepper the Saxon Shore Way, a 153-mile route from Gravesend to Hastings that passes through the Gusbourne estate.
Wine isn’t just something we drink. It brings us to think about stories of geology, history and the physical places that add their layers of character. Gusbourne’s proximity to Romney Marsh provides interesting insights into our wines, as you’ll find when you visit the estate.
Estate Tours: One for Wine Lovers
Led by one of our friendly, knowledgeable Nest tour hosts, this small-group, four-hour visit round some of our hidden corners – followed by a tutored tasting with lunch – is designed for those keen to learn what makes Gusbourne wines so special.
