Specially chosen menus. Perfectly paired wines. Good friends, good food, idyllic setting. There’s a certain kind of magic that happens when all these elements come together.

Since 2018 we’ve been inviting some of the UK’s top chefs to Gusbourne to share their Michelin-starred talents in our intimate garden room, overlooking the vineyards where our wines are made. Over the years we’ve collaborated with Adam Byatt’s Trinity, Brad Carter’s Carters of Moseley and Josh Eggleston’s Pony and Trap.

This summer we’re delighted to have Tom Kerridge’s two-Michelin-star pub The Hand and Flowers present a specially created three-course seasonal menu paired with Gusbourne wines on Friday 27th August. This intimate fine-dining event at our vineyard in rural Kent will welcome just 40 guests at each sitting over lunch and dinner.

We’ll start with a wander into the vines, a canapé and glass of just-released Gusbourne Brut Reserve 2017 in hand, before taking a seat in our beautiful garden room for a unique food-and-wine experience. Created with local, seasonal ingredients, every dish is designed to complement a vintage Gusbourne sparkling or still wine. Whipped Tunworth Gougères with Gusbourne Blanc de Blancs 2016. Miso Marinated Tuna Tartare and Aged Hereford Steak Tartare with Gusbourne Pinot Noir Rosé 2020. Slow-cooked Romney Marsh Lamb with Gusbourne Pinot Noir 2019. Earl Grey Panna Cotta, Kentish Strawberries and Vanilla Meringue with Gusbourne Rosé 2016.

The bespoke multi-course menu created specially for Gusbourne brings all the ceremony of a Michelin-star experience to our beautiful corner of Kent, where guests will delight in cooking and service of the highest standards in our romantic vineyard setting. Head Chef at The Hand and Flowers Jamie May sums up what to expect: “Everything we do at The Hand and Flowers is driven by creating a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and so much of dining is influenced by the environment. The vineyard at Gusbourne is the perfect backdrop for us to bring British flavours together. It will be a fantastic day for those lucky enough to join us – and for us too, of course!”

More exciting dining occasions are in store in the autumn. Next up: Tom Sellers’s two-Michelin-starred Restaurant Story brings a taste of his delicate, masterful, inspired-by-the-seasons dishes to Gusbourne, with a special menu created by Group Head Chef Gary Cutcliffe.
