Views here at the Gusbourne Estate are a feast for the eyes throughout the seasons. Acres of vines cover gentle slopes amongst the wildflowers and natural woodland as your eye travels across grassy Romney Marsh towards the south Kent coast. And at this time of year some of those views will be interrupted in the most delightful way – diverted to our specially planted Queen’s Green Canopy. A leafy planting of 15 varieties of plum and apple trees in our Boot Hill Garden overlooking the vineyard.
It's an idyllic setting for toasting Her Majesty’s historic 70-year reign and celebrating the start of the summer season with the debut of our Gusbourne Sparkling Afternoon Tea, created specially for the occasion. With everything you’d expect from a traditional afternoon tea – house-made sandwiches, scones and cream, delicate pastries – this intimate tea for two includes a welcome glass of our award-winning Brut Reserve as well as a bottle of Gusbourne sparkling Rosé (and of course a perfectly brewed cup of tea!).
Our chefs have also been hard at work re-imagining our picnics and tour lunches – all prepared on site at our Nest Kitchen with the highest quality local ingredients from Kent and West Sussex. And all carefully crafted to complement our vintage sparkling and still wines, including the 2020 vintage of our still Chardonnay Guinevere – released to coincide with English Wine Week and the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations.
