For first-timers: Vineyard Tour
If you, or your gift recipient, is new to the idea of English fine wine, then this two-hour experience is a relaxed way to get your bearings. Guided by one of our experts, you’ll enjoy a tour of the vineyards followed by a tutored wine tasting in the Nest. Even when the vines are dormant, strolling through the vineyards – seeing how and where they grow – helps you join the dots between grape and glass. To make this experience even more pleasurable to give, and unwrap, at Christmas, you can purchase it as a gift set which includes a bottle of our mouth-watering Brut Reserve 2019.
For nature lovers: Picnic for two
If you’re shopping for someone who lives for the great outdoors, then a picnic amongst Gusbourne’s wildflowers and Pinot Noir vines could be just the thing. Available as a gift voucher, our picnics are set in Boot Hill vineyard with views towards the lush wetlands of Romney Marsh. You and your guest will enjoy a mouth-watering selection of cheeses, charcuterie, homemade bread and a bottle of Gusbourne Brut Reserve. In the chill of winter, what could be better than the promise of spring sunshine, fresh air and fine wine? Vouchers are available to redeem from April onwards.
For friends: Discovery Experience
Not everyone longs to stomp through the vines in winter. So we designed our Discovery Experience for those who prefer the comfort of the Nest to a mud-on-boots vineyard tour. The emphasis of these lunches is on relaxed, sociable enjoyment of fine English sparkling rather than a fully tutored tasting, making them the perfect experience to share with friends or family. After an introduction to a pair of our most popular wines, your host will leave you and your group to enjoy a delicious seasonal three-course meal, generously partnered with Gusbourne a selection of sparkling.
For connoisseurs: The Gusbourne Icons Experience
We hold only one Icons Experience a month, and these events are something special. Designed for those who love English wine and want to understand more of its complexity and depth, these expert-guided masterclasses give you access to our finest library wines. You’ll have the chance to sample late-disgorged, rare and limited-edition bottles – and gain insights into the winemaking decisions and vintage conditions behind them – before sitting down to a lavish four-course lunch. Whether as a gift for an oenophile, or a treat for yourself, the Icons Experience will be one to remember.
For oenophiles: Estate Tour
Of course, all our experiences are for wine lovers – but those who take their passion for fine English wine seriously will find our Estate Tour incredibly rewarding. In addition to an expert-guided tour of the vineyards, your host will delve into our cellars to share rare and special bottles alongside Gusbourne favourites. The three-course lunch format allows our sommelier team to expertly pair each dish with a recommended wine, proving that good food and good wine always equal more than the sum of their parts.
Our tours and experiences make memorable Christmas gifts. You can browse available experiences here.
CHEF SERIES: The Hand & Flowers x Gusbourne
Following the huge success of last year's collaboration, we are delighted to invite back to our estate Tom Kerridge's two Michelin star pub, The Hand and Flowers. Join us for a Gusbourne aperitif and a short stroll into the vines, followed by a three-course dinner cooked by Hand and Flowers Executive Chef Kieran Reilly. Lunch and dinner will be paired with our award-winning wines, including sparkling and limited-edition selections.
A Midsummer Night's Dream Experience
We'll be welcoming theatre group, Revels in Hand to the estate for a special performance of 'A Midsummer Night’s Dream', the most loved of all Shakespeare's plays. The performance will take place amongst the vines and will be followed by a two-course meal paired with our award-winning wines.
Harvest Estate Tours
Harvest is one of the most exciting times to visit. On a Harvest Discovery or Estate Tour, we seek out opportunities for you to step behind the scenes and see what happens at Gusbourne during the grape harvest, from tasting grapes right from the vine to juice fresh from the presses.
