Tasted together, the wines offer a fascinating insight into three distinct growing seasons. The 2020 is elegant and complex, with citrus, toasted nuts and subtle spice; the 2021 brings honeyed citrus, green apple and a striking mineral finish; while the 2022 is ripe and rounded, with nectarine, quince and a fresh, saline edge.
Made from hand-picked Chardonnay grown on the ancient escarpment of our Appledore estate, each wine was whole-bunch pressed before fermentation and ten months’ ageing in French oak. The result is a trio of poised, elegant and ageworthy wines, with the citrus, orchard fruit and mineral character often associated with fine Chablis.
