ABOUT THE 2012 VINTAGE
The 2012 vintage got off to an early start with bud burst commencing on 31st March (our earliest yet). After a cool spell, warmer weather followed with flowering taking place from late June to mid July. A period of wet weather resulted in poor fruit set, however the reduced level of fruit ripened well in September. The grapes were harvested in early October at the optimum levels of sugar, acidity and flavour.
TASTING NOTES
This Brut Reserve is beautifully mature. A soft gold in the glass with a delicate mousse, the nose is complex and intense. Notes of ripe and juicy apricot and peach meld with a sweet white floral note and cherry stone. On the palate, this is equally exciting and intense with juicy flavours of poached pears and oranges, ginger and spice, white pepper and a vibrant acidity. There’s a fresh herbal note and mineral edge too. The finish is long and complex.
