TASTING NOTE:
Retasted by Laura Rhys MS, February 2025: A pale golden colour in the glass, with fine bubbles. The nose is dominated by honey lemon, green apple and poached pear, with notes of butter popcorn and toasted brioche. The palate is bold and bright, with ripe citrus, nectarine and baked apple pie. There’s a beautiful toasty, nutty character with toasted hazelnuts and pecans, alongside a defined, salty mineral note. The wine is complex and elegant after extended time on lees and on cork, with a long, precise finish.
Singing with fruit, so much fruit!
Despite more than eight years on lees and under cork, the fruit is still broad and picture perfect. Like an orchard on a late July morning. Tastes like summer dawn, when all the colours are brighter and every gulp of air is vivid and crisp and illuminating . 17.5/20, tasted 10 June 2024
