Annual Results For The Period Ended 31 December 2025
Significant progress achieved towards Gusbourne’s strategic initiatives; significantly improving operational activity, optimising asset base, focussing on core freehold vineyard sites, establishing new routes to market and continuing to craft the finest wines in the world.
Highlight of 2025 include:
- Net revenue* up by 12.8% to £8.0m (2024: £7.1m) with mixed performance across the Group's three main distribution channels:
- UK Trade sales down by 1% (2024: down by 9%) to £3.1m (2024: £3.1m).
- Direct to consumer net revenue, which includes tours and related cellar door operations in Kent, was up by 8% to £2.6m (2024: £2.4m).
- International sales up by 15% (2024: down by 3%) to £1.7m (2024: £1.4m).
- Other income grew to £0.6m (2024: £0.1m), which included the sale of surplus base wine from tank at low margin and the provision of new contract winemaking services.
- Significant increase in the number of visitors to the Nest (14%). Improved website performance (5% more orders) and 12% more members.
- Continued momentum in global expansion, with distribution in 35 countries during the period and new listings onboard British Airways aircraft and in World Duty Free outlets.
| - A five-year CAGR (compound annual growth rate) in net revenue of 31% (2024: 34%).
- Gross profit up by 1% to £4.7m (2024: £4.7m) with margin at 58.7% (2024: 65.6%). Excluding other income, finished wine gross margin sales 63.4% (2024: 66.3%).
- Adjusted EBITDA** loss improved to -£0.4m (2024: -£0.7m). Management have significantly improved operational activity and it is expected that actions taken during 2025 will deliver c.£1m of annualised cost savings realised to full effect in 2026.
- Substantial improvement in cash requirements following the execution of several critical strategic initiatives that reduced net cash inflow from financing activities to £0.5m (2024: £2.5m, 2023: £6.0m).
- Ongoing success in international wine competitions with an impressive number of awards for Gusbourne wines, including second place in Wine Enthusiasts “Top 100 Wines of 2025” and becoming the first English producer ever to win the Chairman’s Trophy at The Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championships.
- Gusbourne was named British Luxury Brand of the Year 2025 at the prestigious Walpole Luxury Awards, joining a lineage of some of the country’s most iconic names.
* Net revenue represents Revenue after deducting excise duties.
** Adjusted EBITDA means profit/(loss)from operations before fair value stock adjustment and capital expenditure write-off, fair value movement in biological produce, write-downs and costs of closure of Sussex site, interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation.
