Visiting from London
The simplest way to reach Gusbourne from London is to take the high-speed train from London St Pancras International to Ashford International, followed by a pre-booked taxi to the estate.
Allow around 40 minutes for the train journey and approximately 20 minutes for your taxi transfer. We strongly recommend booking both your outward and return taxis before the day of your visit, particularly at weekends.
Our preferred taxi provider is ETM Cars. Gusbourne visitors can book the agreed £30 rate from Ashford International by quoting “Gusbourne” when making an advance reservation.
Choosing your Gusbourne experience
You don’t need any previous knowledge of wine to visit Gusbourne. Our hosts tailor each tasting to the interests and experience of the group, creating a relaxed and welcoming introduction to our estate and wines.
For the fullest experience, book an Estate Tour with Lunch. You will be welcomed with a glass of Gusbourne before exploring the vineyard and winery, tasting a selection of our vintage-only wines and enjoying a seasonal three-course lunch.
If you have less time, choose a vineyard tour and tasting, a tutored tasting flight or a relaxed platter with wine at The Nest.
Advance booking is strongly recommended, particularly for weekends, dining experiences and larger groups.
What to expect when you arrive
Your visit begins at The Nest, our cellar door and tasting space in the heart of our estate in Appledore.
If you have booked an experience, please arrive around 15 minutes before its scheduled start. This gives you time to check in and settle before your host welcomes the group. If you are delayed, please just give us a call to let us know.
Gusbourne is a working vineyard and some experiences include time outdoors. The ground may be uneven or muddy, so we recommend comfortable footwear and clothing suitable for the weather. In wet conditions, boots or sturdy shoes are a good idea.
Our indoor tasting spaces allow visits to continue throughout the year, whatever the weather.
Food and drink at The Nest
Food at Gusbourne varies according to the experience and season.
Our Estate Tour and Icons Experience include a seasonal three-course lunch paired with Gusbourne wines. A Vineyard Platter can be booked for a more relaxed lunch, featuring Kentish charcuterie, richly flavoured cheeses, fresh salads, artisan baguettes, and seasonal fruits such as strawberries and grapes.
In the autumn and winter, we also welcome acclaimed guest chefs to collaborate on unique dining experiences, making each visit a one-of-a-kind celebration.
Wine by the glass or bottle, snacks and platters are available to walk-in visitors on selected days.
The Nest is not a conventional restaurant, and walk-in food service cannot always be guaranteed. If eating during your visit is important, we recommend booking an experience that includes food or calling ahead to confirm what will be available.
Please tell us about dietary requirements when booking. Only food and drink purchased at Gusbourne may be consumed on the estate.
