Outstanding results for Broadbent Selections as well as for the newest addition to their exceptional portfolio, Gusbourne.
When the respected wine critic Rebecca Murphy set out to create a wine award focusing on US wines, she most likely did not expect the event to evolve into one of the most high profile and significant international wine awards on the planet. Now in its 22nd year and known as the TEXSOM International Wine Awards, the 2017 edition saw wines from 25 US States and 25 countries judged by some of the most discerning critics from around the world.
It is this impressive gathering of Master Sommeliers, Masters of Wine, and critics that provides the true indicator of the significance of the Awards. Now managed by James Tidwell MS and Drew Hendricks MS, each year sees the gathering of the world’s most skilled wine judges to lend their expertise in determining the champion of each category.
Broadbent Selections is one name that always features at the top of any awards list. Known for championing only the very best, Broadbent seek out wines that speak to the soul just as much as they do the senses.
Bartholomew Broadbent, the founder and visionary force behind the business has been placed in the top ten people “driving the most revolutionary changes in wine" by Wine & Spirit magazine. It is this refreshing, distinct, and passionate interpretation of wine that has earned Broadbent their status and associated critical success.
At this years TEXSOM Awards, Broadbent wines once more shone, earning the most medals amongst all US distributors; yet one more endorsement of both the quality and consistency of their portfolio.
Gusbourne are the latest addition to that portfolio and we are proud to have continued the Broadbent penchant by claiming Gold Medals with both our Gusbourne Blanc de Blancs 2013 and Gusbourne Brut Reserve 2013.
Furthermore, we were honoured to be awarded the Judges Selection Trophy for Best English Sparkling Wine.
We are delighted by the success of our friends at Broadbent Selections and congratulate them on their well-deserved recognition; we remain humbled to be represented for US distribution by such an illustrious name.
