2009 was arguably one of best vintages in recent memory; Gusbourne Blanc de Blancs and Gusbourne Brut Reserve promise to be even more successful than the multi award winning 2008 vintage.
Gusbourne Brut Reserve
16,500 bottles produced
77% Chardonnay, 14% Pinot Noir, 9% Pinot Meunier
The previous vintage won the IWSC trophy for best bottle fermented sparkling wine.
A mid April bud burst resulted in a good start to the season. Unfortunately poor weather during flowering meant a reduced crop. This reduced crop load helped us to produce our Pinot Noir in a difficult weather year. The lower yield enabled us to bring our Burgundian Pinot Noir clones to optimum ripeness resulting in a mid October harvest.
Gusbourne Pinot Noir
100% hand-harvested Pinot Noir from our Pond Fields vineyard.
With a youthful, deep ruby red hue this Pinot Noir is full of the intense red fruit aromas you might find in an English garden – cherries, raspberries and red currants. This is then backed up with creamy vanilla and a spicy pepper kick. The palate reveals more crisp and fresh flavours of juicy cherry and crunchy pomegranate supported by a soft and ripe tannic structure.
2010 was a superb year for the vineyard and we are proud to introduce our first sparkling wine from this vintage, Gusbourne Rose 2010.
2000 bottles produced
Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier
The previous vintage was awarded silver medals in both Decanter World Wine Awards and International Wine Challenge.
Gusbourne Blanc de Blancs
100% Chardonnay from our finest grapes.
Gusbourne Blanc de Blancs continues to set the benchmark for exceptional English sparkling wines with the release of our 2010 vintage.
In exceptional years, we create a very limited quantity of still wines.
